i can connect the book Gold Coast with a video game called Grand Theft Auto: Vice City because the book takes place in Miami, Florida and the game also takes place in Miami, Florida. although this isn't actually mentioned at any point in the game, the art and visual director does state in an interview that game takes place in Miami, Florida and it can be proven by the striking resemblence of the game's setting compared to the actual city. It was because of legal reasons that they didn't call the city Miami. Also, the game revolves around your character who is an Italian gangster of the 80's who is out to make a name for himself. The Gold Coast also has a plot that involves around the crime scene of Miami Florida in the 1980's, although the main character isn't a gangster, she is still is affiliated with crime scene and most of the other characters are involved with crime syndacets.

“I see us. I see us driving through Spain. I see us at a sidewalk table, place with a red awning. I see us looking at somebody, like some tourist, and nudging each other and laughing” (157). This quote is significant because this quote is spoken to Karen by Maguire who she had went out with the night before. They had then gone up to Karen’s bedroom and did the dirt. and the next morning Maguire said this to her and so we can obviously conclude that Karen and Maguire have a relationship going on despite knowing that her husband doesn’t want her to have relationships with any other men.

The main character Karen DiCillia is the widow of Italian crime boss Frank DiCillia. She is a very young and good looking woman for a 43 year old widow, but she feels restrained because her deceased husband wrote in his will that she isn’t allowed to have romantic/sexual relations with any man after he has passed on. She is a smooth talker and stays calm in harsh situations but is angry that she has so many shady characters attempting to control her life in her husband’s place.

"Karen, Karen, Karen" (7) this is a significant quote because Frank Dicilia said this after Karen said she would fool around with other men if he did so with women. and because of this, it made frank write out a part of his will that said that she couldn't have any romantic relations with any men. and karen trying to escape this is what the plot of the book basicly is.

I know that you don't want anything to do with Roland Crowe, but you must consider that he could use this situation to your disadvantge and get you in trouble. For example, if you refuse to have sex with him, he could go to Mr. Grossi and tell him that you had gone off with another man, and that would be bad. Now i'm not saying that you should have sex with him to prevent this from happening, i'm just saying that you should come up with a plan.
